Privacy Policy

• Account details. Your email address and username. If you sign up with email, your password is stored hashed by our authentication provider; we never see it. If you sign in with Google, Google shares your name, email address and profile picture with us. We don't get access to anything else in your Google account.
• Profile details you choose to add, such as a display name, bio or profile photo.
• What you post. Reviews, ratings, tips, votes on tips, favorites, spots you submit, and any photos you upload.
• Basic technical data. Like any website, our hosting providers receive your IP address and browser details when you load a page, and keep standard server logs for security and troubleshooting.

• To run your account and keep you signed in.
• To show what you post. Reviews, tips, your username, profile photo and bio are public. Your email address is never shown publicly.
• To moderate submissions and keep out spam and abuse.
• To send account emails, such as confirming your sign-up.

We don't sell or rent your information, and we don't use it for advertising.

We use only the cookies needed to keep you signed in. We don't use analytics, advertising or tracking cookies.

Some of your information is processed by the services that run the site:

• Supabase stores accounts, posts and photos, and handles sign-in.
• Amazon Web Services hosts the website.
• Google, if you choose Google sign-in. The sign-in page loads Google's sign-in button from Google's servers, so Google can see that you visited that page.
• OpenStreetMap provides map tiles. Your browser loads them directly, so OpenStreetMap's servers see your IP address.
• YouTube, when a page shows one of our videos. We use YouTube's privacy-enhanced mode, and YouTube's own policies apply once you play a video.

Links to Facebook, Instagram, TikTok, YouTube and restaurant websites take you to sites with their own privacy policies.

We keep your account and posts until you delete them or ask us to. You can edit or delete your own reviews and tips at any time. To delete your whole account, email canonsburgbites@gmail.com from the address you signed up with. We'll delete your account, profile and posts within 30 days. Spots you submitted that are now listed may stay up, with no link to you.

Canonsburg Bites isn't meant for children under 13, and we don't knowingly collect information from them. If you think a child has made an account, email us and we'll delete it.

If we change this policy, we'll update it here and change the date at the top. If a change is significant, we'll put a notice on the site.
